For the last year, we have been making giant steps to reduce our footprint and improve our social and environment impact.
We are so excited to announce that everything in our Alzang Earth collection will be made to order or from our South East London studio, by local, skilled seamstresses paid a fair wage. We will ensure the garments we produce are the best quality possibly and each piece is developed and created with care and attention.
We pledge to use only sustainably sourced fabrics, whether that be locally sourced, recycled man made (GRS POST-CONSUMER PET), GOTS certified organic natural or remnant up-cycled denim.
Earlier this year we partnered with Thread Ahead. They are an organisation who source brand new surplus clothing and redirect them to those in need. Thread ahead organises pop up shops for those with precarious immigration status, such as refugees and asylum seekers.
We aim to generate as little waste as possible and a percentage of surplus unsold clothing from returns and samples will be donated to the wonderful team at thread ahead.
All plastic has been eliminated from our branding and packaging. We wrap each garment in non-toxic tissue paper before it goes inside our branded paper mailer bags. All of our packaging is recyclable, so please do dispose of it responsibly.
We try and re-use our scraps across our business and distribute any scraps we are not able to use to other small brands and design students. Our hanging tag ties are made of fabric scraps and we create accessories from scraps to go along side our collections.
Thank you so so much to all you lovely lot for your support since we opened our doors in 2019. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to invest in making these massive positive changes to our manufacturing process.
We know there is always room for improvement, so please do reach out to us with any suggestions!
Lots of love,
